Test Game Part2

With the Oenotrian's only sending three sharp shooters forward seals the fate of the raid.Once they split from the Priest's men this seals their fate to.The Priest and his men have no firearms and against a pistol,two shotguns and a repeating rifle fall before they can make contact with the humans.The sharpe shooters soon turn against a well defended force no matter its size.The day leaves the Brits a little shakened but not stired ;)The Martians will return to the region to push the Brits out.

Test Game 01 2010

First off seasons greetings to one and all.
I've been rather busy with family things and the odd party or two.But I just managed to squeeze in a test game before the new year.

I dragged a pal over with the promise of drink with a game.As you will see I haven't got all my Martians finished yet so this was a small bash.A Ground Cleanser priest leading a small force sometime after the Shastapsh upraising agaist a farmstead and an abandoned station.But unlucky for the raiders a squad of British soldiers are camped there as part of a scouting force and the local Inspector of the Royal Martian Constabulary is warning the farmers of the risks remaining in the area.

The Oenotrian troops make up the main force of the raiding party and are less keen to take on an unknown number of British troops than the Hill Martians with the Priest.

The Martian Legions have landed

Finally those Brave Martians havde had their way across the Atlantic and battled the snows in Britain to get here.So when not being dragged out by my better half x-mass shopping etc I'll be under coating and then cracking on with painting them before our planned battle during the end of year hols.Hurrah!

My first Martian screw galley is near completion(pics to follow soon),my British Army/Navy,civilian and European spys lead pile grows but where are my Martian Legions?

I've a game planned over the holiday season if they turn up from RAFM.

DIY Cloud ships part 1

I decided to start with a small Star Wars skiff before I move unto the larger Tatooine Skiff which has been converted by others in the past.More pics to follow when I've moved on with the project.In addition to this more Martians are on order from RAFM.Hope they get through customs without too much of a charge !

Cloud Ships

After not planning to go into Cloud Ships, I've completed an e-bay battle for a ex-starwars skiff.Which the clever chaps in London converted into armoured Cloud Ships.Hopefully a full game will be played before Christmas with a pal.

Space 1889 trial painting

Just some trial painting for the very large pile of lead still in its box for my Victorian Sci-Fi.

First steps to AVBCOS

RAF Saucer.I wasn't too happy with the finish (Humbrol 15) of the outer hull but with the decals I'm hoping it will grow on me.The inter panels are still to paint as this Polar Lights Jupitur 2 was an e-bay sale without instructions or decals.

Saucer time :)

I've just got hold of a saucer off ebay so I'll be going ahead with ABCOS along with my Space 1889 project.Pics will follow when done.

The Martians are here

At last my Martians are here and hopefully I'll have them painted soon.

City building or area Station

I've still got the shutters to add to the windows and a floor surface to the courtyard/station compound.I've also to add to stables at the front of the compound.

Test Page

First Martian buildings for Space 1889 & VBCOS.Built from cork floor tiles to keep it cheap.I want to keep this project small and not get carried away as I've done with AVBCW.

The idea is in rural parts local 'light' clays are used to make very simple constructions.Small doors to reduce martian dust entering.No windows.On good days a roof hatch to let out excess heat.For larger (more wealthy) buildings the same format is used but windows with shutters nearly always facing the weakest wind direction.The only windows are always on these sides.Wood is in short supply in some areas so tends to be restricted to larger wealthier buildings.
